Relations with Shareholders

Meetings with Barclays principal institutional investors are held on a regular basis and the agenda and format of the annual general meeting provide a forum for questions from private shareholders. The annual general meeting in 2001 is an opportunity for shareholders to ask questions of the Board, including the chairmen of the Board Audit, Board Remuneration and Board Nominations Committees. Voting at Barclays annual general meetings is conducted by poll so that the votes of those shareholders who cannot attend are taken into account.
